A Miscellaneous Ramble

For starters, Lianshi is finished. Will be ready to go at the start of the month, so that's one weight off my shoulder for now. Beyond that, I was going to ramble about horror and nightmares and the like this time, but after a couple of days of just rambling in my head to try to articulate myself, I've come to the conclusion I can't. It's just kind of an incoherent mess of half-thoughts and what not. This also happened last year. I like horror, but I have a really hard time articulating what it is I like about it, especially since everyone seems to have their own opinion on what horror is. For me, it's more about atmosphere and the 'unknown' than it is anything overtly scary. Like, to me, jumpscares aren't even part of the equation, but a lot of people associate them with horror. They can be used in horror effectively, but they have to be used sparingly and with purpose.

But anyway, I digress. Despite liking horror a lot, I don't have much in the way of horror stories to tell. I don't really believe in the supernatural, which might explain why I have a fascination with the subject. It's that sort of 'what if?' feeling, I suppose. I also didn't use to like horror, but at some point I stopped really having nightmares on a frequent basis, and from there my interest in it grew I suppose. Might just be an inner thrill seeker, but I don't really like 'thrills' in horror, so much as just strange imagery, atmosphere, and that sort of thing. Again, I have a hard time articulating it. That said, even though I do occasionaly still have nightmares, I never really get 'scared' by them. My mind is calm, but my body is freaking out. And from what I've been able to tell, it's usually that I'm in an uncomfortable position or the like. I usually wake myself up, roll over, and go back to sleep.

That's kind of all I'll say on the subject of horror, though. Instead, let's talk about some other things. Probably noticed my pfp and banner change. The pfp is just the 'realistic' Misturu model now with a body. Costume isn't really done yet. Gotta find appropriate costume parts that don't look super 'anime'. But, she's looking decent.

As for the banner, that's just mostly boredom. I wasn't really in the mood to animate, and just started playing dress up essentially. Especially since long, straight loose hair is kind of obnoxious to work with. Luna ended up getting a fair number of different hair styles.

I will admit I'm already itching to get back to FFXV animations, and I already have plans in the works for it. One thing I plan to do is completely rehash all the bodies and rigs for al lthe characters, just because all of them are from 2021 and have various rig issues that have been fixed in newer versions of Blender. Figure for my 2024 return, I'll make it an even more proper one with 'new' rigs and what have you. I did rig up someone already, mainly because while I don't plan to have a normal poll, I'm thinking to do a 'Remaster' poll. Namely of two old FFXV animation packs I did.

The Gentiana pack from 2019, and the Aranea pack from 2019. Part of the reason why I haven't reuploaded some of those old ones is just because I'd like to re-render them, so having a remaster of them will kind of get me off my ass. I mean, I do plan to properly remake them with the new rigs(because those old ones are obnoxious to work with), but I'll also rerender and reupload the originals for posterity sake. I also planned, and did something with Gentiana. Besides just fitting her original outfit, I fucked around with it and did this.

I sort of got the idea from Nyotengu. See, I was going to put Gentiana in Nyotengu's outfit and have her be part of the cosplay poll, but I decided against that. Instead, I just kind of "Nyotengu'd" her original outfit, and made it easier to work with down below so I don't have to deal with the skirt. Also did this just because I was curious.

I like ponytails, okay? And they're easier to work with than loose hair. Anyway, I haven't finished Aranea, will probably do that over the weekend. Lastly, I'll throw one Halloween tease out. I'm gonna hopefully start getting into the proper workflow for it next month.
