Three Years.

Today marks three years on Patreon.

Honestly, I don’t even know how to put into words what that means.

Three years ago, I was just a girl with a microphone who decided to try something new because someone suggested I might be good at it. I wasn’t building a brand. I wasn’t thinking about businesses, content strategies, or libraries of hundreds of audios.

I was just having fun.

And somehow, that one small decision changed my life.

Over these last three years, I’ve met some of the most incredible people. Listeners, writers, editors, fellow VAs, collaborators, and friends. People I never would have crossed paths with otherwise. People who inspired me, challenged me, encouraged me, and helped shape what The Velvet Room has become.

More than that, you’ve been here through life.

You’ve been here through losses. Through family health scares. Through difficult seasons. Through my children’s health struggles. Through moments when I wasn’t sure what came next. Through days when recording felt easy and days when it felt impossible.

You were here.

And I don’t think you’ll ever truly know how much that means to me.

To my day-ones, my OGs, the people who took a chance on me before I really knew what I was doing—thank you. Thank you for sticking around through the learning curve, through the questionable audio quality, through the experimentation, through all the times I was figuring things out in real time.

Thank you for believing in me before I fully believed in myself.

To everyone who’s ever left a comment, sent feedback, shared a kind word, laughed with me, encouraged me, challenged me, or simply hit play on an audio—thank you.

You have helped me build something that means so much more than I ever imagined it would.

One of the things I’ve learned over these three years is that I want people to feel seen. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or joined yesterday, I want this space to feel like somewhere you belong.

And the funny thing is, somewhere along the way, you helped me find that too.

Over the last year especially, I feel like I’ve finally settled into who I am as a creator. I found The Velvet Room. I found my voice. I found the characters that feel like home. The confidence. The playfulness. The sass. The mean streak you all seem to enjoy way too much.

And honestly?

A huge part of that happened because of you.

You embraced it. You encouraged it. You showed me what resonated. You helped me become the creator I am today.

So today isn’t really about me.

It’s about us.

It’s about every play, every comment, every message, every month you chose to stay, every chance you gave me, every bit of support you’ve shown over the last three years.

You have allowed me to be present for my family during difficult times. You’ve helped me turn something that started as a hobby into something meaningful. You’ve given me opportunities I never imagined I would have.

And for that, I will always be grateful.

So here’s to three years.

To the day-ones.

To the newcomers.

To every story we’ve shared together.
