Hey guys,

First of all, I apologise - a lot has been going on and we haven't done the best job at communication. Some of that has been in my control, a lot of it not. I have this bad habit of getting my head down and attacking the problem first - without communicating about it (as my girlfriend kindly reminds me all the time, usually with the specific warmth of someone who has said it 47 times before). 

Either way, I lift my hand up - this totally has not been my strong suit - but just wanted to say, I hear you. 

Secondly, we have some good news about Mr. Robinson - expect the man, the myth, the legend to be back in action with some more audios. The man will be still around, but sharing more mic-space with the other gentlemen. 

Thirdly, Thank you for being a loyal fan and sticking with us through the great times as well as the ‘wait, what the actual fuck is happening?’ times. Many of you have been here for many months and years and I appreciate you guys sticking through the rough patches with us and working alongside us to create the most delicious, deranged, wonderful and hopefully beautiful audios that make your day just that bit brighter. I still break into a slow smile thinking about the fan who DM’d me the clip of her listening to the spicy part of ‘You Can’t Have Just One’ on a road trip, with the windows down.

Next, we hear you loud and clear - the stories need improvement and variety again. I am working my butt off to get us back to recapturing the BKS magic, that mission has not changed. 

Why did it change, you may ask? I think it’s not always easy to hear the negative feedback about writing - so at some point I think we started overthinking -

Will everyone like this?

Will everyone be happy?

Could this story ruffle some feathers? 

But when you optimise for 'nobody will ever dislike this dish/recipe’ you get oatmeal. Safe but deeply forgettable. I’ve never had a bowl of unflavoured rolled oats where I was like, holy shit, I’m gonna remember this in a week.

Unfortunately, if we want to make sure a story is never disliked by anyone - we also end up with things that are more average and repetitive and ironically it ends up being more disliked because it’s not imaginative and creative enough. 

This does mean we are taking more risks again - some of them will work out and be great, some of them not so much - so expect some interesting variety again. We’ve already changed this with how we communicate things to the writers and some new interesting stories are in the pipeline. These changes take some time to materialise - but I wanted to let you know we do read all the feedback and do make changes based on your comments (I’ve just sucked at communicating them). 

One last thing from me as well - the BKS fanbase has always been proudly diverse, understanding and very open-minded. I think, you can probably agree. For this reason we've been a bit surprised to have received a couple of comments and messages over the last few weeks, that have been quite one-sided. Don’t get me wrong, we do love constructive feedback and always take it into account - that’s not what I mean. 

Our writers and team and fans come from literally every continent in the world, hundreds of countries and cultures at this point. With very different experiences and different outlooks on life. So what looks “tone deaf” in one part of the world, is completely the opposite in another side of the world. TLDR - We can’t yuck someone else’s yum. I know, this is not always easy with regard to this content - but you all have been great at this over the years and I hope we can always remember this.

Anyways, I just wanted to say a big thank you to you for supporting us through everything from Robinson chatting you up behind the bleachers all those years ago to Thorne yelling at his boiler and vibing to some D&B thirty seconds into his recording session, it’s been a journey so far. 

P.S. Don’t forget we still have 1,000+ audios in the catalogue to binge on whilst you are waiting for the next release. That’s a lot of growling, yearning, cunnilingus and pounding, to consume for…educational purposes, just saying.
