Premise: You’ve always been able to roll with the punches, taking what life gives you in stride and forging your own happiness regardless of the circumstances. This past year, however, has put that ability to the test. A series of setbacks and tragedies simply refuses to take a number and get in line, hitting you all at once and straining your resolve as it has never before been strained. You’re exhausted. Hanging on by a thread. And utterly over it all.

You are so over it, in fact, that when a demon appears in the house you are renovating, menacing, growling, and demanding a soul to sacrifice, you can’t seem to muster much fear or concern. Life has gone too far now in its quest to break you, and all you have left to give is annoyance, sarcasm, and a whole heap of attitude. Demons aren’t exactly known for their tolerance of mortal insolence, and if this is the way you go, so be it. 

Yet as each day passes, not only does your soul remain firmly in place, but your renovations  begin falling into place as well, with the help of your surly, uninvited “guest.” He’s handy with power tools, gives as good as he gets, and the way his body fills out a Tom Ford makes you want to antagonize him in all kinds of ways. You did not expect to find, “Become Reno Buddies with a Demon” on your 2026 BINGO card of life. And he certainly never expected one Little Mortal to thaw his ice-cold heart and upend his entire existence.
