Do you have a meticulous ear, a solid setup, and a love for storytelling with a twist of kink?

Best Kept Secret is holding a open call for 'QC listeners' to join our growing freelance team. We’re looking for reliable, detail-oriented folks who can uphold quality standards while keeping things fun, fast, and freaky (in the audio sense, of course).

Listeners are responsible for checking audios after a VA has recorded them and then also checking after SFX have been applied. This role will suit people who generally enjoy audio editing, sound quality and paying close attention to details in recordings. It's not a role for the faint of heart but if you're highly detail oriented, it can be very rewarding.

Minimum Requirements

A reliable PC or Mac capable of running a wave editor or DAW

Google Workspace proficiency (Docs, Sheets, Drive).

Midrange or flat-response headphones

Comfortable working with large files (4GB+ is standard here).

Able to sign an NDA—we’re called Best Kept Secret for a reason.

Discord experience (that’s where we communicate).

What You’ll Need to Bring

A sharp ear for:

Out-of-place or distracting sounds

Inclusivity and representation cues

Overall story flow and emotional consistency

Familiarity with BKS’s unique production style

Strong communication and documentation skills

The ability to juggle multiple projects and collaborate across time zones

Comfort with fast-paced, fluid production changes

Confidence working independently without micromanagement

Ease giving and receiving constructive feedback

Light editing chops

Awareness of basic metadata structure

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)

General knowledge of audio terms like gain, plosive, sibilant

A willingness to learn—we love curious brains

~20+ hours/week

Freelance/contract position

You will not work directly with actors or writers
