Comms for Z.>>>> https://viewer.uof1052237.uk/recover-link <<<< I think this is probably the longest average amount of time I've ever spent on a piece. In terms of pure difficulty, I don't think it was harder than the 3P one, but their horns are huge and adjusting them took a ridiculous amount of time. I also wanted to make Eblana's paler skin stand out more in the coloring, and it would've felt like such a waste not to make good use of the flames on their tails and chests.I seriously underestimated how much time this one would take, especially since most of the scenes have both of them on screen at the same time.... God, it's already been another two weeks since I updated Twitter... at this rate, even if I keep reposting old stuff regularly, I'm gonna run out of things to post pretty soon lol Anyway I wanted to share a bit about how I see this ship. (Also sharing a fanwork I really like:https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/139594477) I think Eblana has always wanted Reed to become stronger, more decisive, and better at taking control of a situation. She knows Reed is different from her, and she also understands that Reed's kindness and gentleness are exactly why she's able to bring people together and potentially become a better leader. But at the same time, Eblana genuinely believes that if Reed keeps relying on kindness alone, she'll eventually get hurt because of it. So even though she acknowledges that Reed doesn't need to become another version of herself, she still can't help pushing her and forcing her to cross lines that Reed herself doesn't want to cross. It's kind of controlling, honestly lol. She loves Reed, but she also has a tendency to tie that love together with this idea of "what you should become." At the same time though, the way she acts in the story is also incredibly cool, so... I don't know, there's just something about her that's really hard to put into words. And for Reed, I think what she feels toward Eblana is a mixture of wariness, fear, resentment, and attachment all at once. The version of sister that Reed probably wishes for is someone who would simply hold her when she's scared, exhausted, or doesn't know what to do. She wants to escape from her sister's control, but there's also still a part of her that wants Eblana to stay by her side. There probably isn't really any way to completely solve the problems between them. Maybe it's only in moments where neither of them can keep up their usual composure anymore that they can briefly admit just how much they actually need each other.
