Exclusive dev update of No escape: Game edition! (328)

Good evening peeps, Scriptor here with the latest dev news report!

Game development

I’m almost done with the custom sprite work needed or the upcoming build! Been on a roll spriting-wise the last few days; so I’ve managed to blast through (most of) the complex stuff on this front already. The sprites themselves also feel a bit higher quality this time around; which is not in least due to some improvements on my shading techniques (especially shading layering). Mainly got Tonkatsu to thank for this; as he took some time out of his busy schedule to school my butt in 2D artwork again. Tonk, you da man! 💯🔥

Only got two more (relatively) complex sprites to wrap up before I’m done on that front; or at least regarding the more “complex” spriting like the sprites for traps, monsters and kinky encounters and such. The “simpler” sprites I’ll do on the fly while I’m implementing the images, maps and events. I don’t expect those final two sprites to take me longer than another day; so Friday I’ll also be writing (and if possible implementing) one of the two upcoming fail-states. 💪

So yeah, all in all a good start of the writing/coding phase this dev cycle! No official E.T.A. on V0.33.1 until we’re a bit deeper in the writing/coding phase, but expect it (the official E.T.A.) to drop somewhere soon(ish). Spoiler alert: I’m aiming to drop V0.33.1 somewhere mid-February!

More teasers of one of the upcoming traps in the maze area of Ais’ playground today, together with (the freshly made) sprite-work to accompany those 3D images! As for the trap itself; well let’s just call it a dungeon classic... Better tread lightly in any long, suspiciously empty corridors. >;3
