The translation is as follows:
So, Greed Lamp was a monster created based on one of the ideas submitted for the 2025 survey project: “Actually create one of the combinations of monsters and situations submitted through the survey.”
The original idea that was actually submitted also included something along the lines of “the victim’s skin turns brown when they are completely taken over,” but after considering various things, I decided not to include that this time.
There were also a couple of other ideas that I was debating right up until the last minute—or rather, ones I initially considered making instead:
* A painting depicting a queen absorbs its opponent, toys with the victim in an SM scenario inside the painting, and then the queen’s outfit changes, turning the victim into the new queen.
* A painting depicting a male figure absorbs its opponent, then paints over them inside the painting and transforms into a scene of mating.
I was considering making a monster based on the same painting concept, with each painting depicting a different scenario. However, the idea became a bit difficult to manage because, in terms of the gimmick itself, it would require quite a bit of programming and tweaking on the Godot side to properly implement and present everything. So, I decided to put it aside for now.
I did already have the idea of a monster that absorbs people into paintings among my original concepts, though, so I might end up doing something like that someday.
From here, I’ll be getting back to game development again. The problem is that while a game is still in development, there tends to be less material that I can actually share publicly. On top of that, if sales happen to decline due to the unstable situation in the world lately, things can get pretty tough. So, I may end up working on some new monster ideas again in between development work.
Also, if you’d like to help me come up with some material to post during those gaps, it might help if you send me prompts through the Odaibako below. ↓
(I only accept requests consisting of combinations of existing characters and animations.)
Anyway, it’ll probably be a while before I have another development update to share, but I hope you’ll stick around and look forward to whatever comes next.
