Change to subscription plan and iOS tax no longer apply to US base patrons

I made an announcement regarding the change to subscription plan and iOS tax to US base patrons in May 2024

But today I want to share to all patrons that no longer apply!

Accord to court ruling https://www.theverge.com/news/659246/apple-epic-app-store-judge-ruling-control Apple must now allow apps to offer U.S. based users checkout options outside of Apple's in-app purchase system (which includes the 30% Apple fee)—something that was previously prohibited under Apple's App Store requirements.

Here's what this means:

• Patreon’s checkout option—which avoids Apple’s 30% fee—is now the default checkout option for U.S. based fans making membership purchases in the iOS app.

• Your U.S. fans now see the price you set without Apple’s fee automatically added in, just like they would on web or Android. 

• When your U.S. fans use Patreon’s checkout, you’ll have faster payouts, because you are no longer subject to Apple’s 75 day hold on payouts.

I should have made this announcement since May 2025 but I think was caught up with something during that time.

I'm not sure about patrons outside the US but this is a great news to US base patrons!
