Update (June 2024)

yo, it's fuckin' hot

Hope ya enjoyed the post from earlier today. As mentioned, it was a redo of one of the core keyposes that I didn't like at all. The latter part of this month has been spent ordering the work I have; what I'm happy with, what I'm not, and finalizing what will be included in the end result. Bits and pieces had to be cut down, some parts ended up shifting around, or merging together, other parts were extended or added to, but as of right now, what I have planned out is what will be made.

The duration of the animation is still somewhat tenuous, on the basis that a large bulk of that time will be based upon how long certain shots are held for and how many loops I feel are sufficient before becoming overbearing. The shortest it could possibly be is 2 minutes long, but that would be with extreme revision and reduction of looping sequences.

That bears the question of whether you would prefer to have the animation be longer, at the cost of redundancy at points, and perhaps holding on certain sequences too long, or whether keeping things snappy and fast paced is more ideal. Please do let me know, I tend toward the latter, but I'm inclined to believe my opinion is far from commonplace.

As for the work to be done going forward, I'll be going through every shot to make sure things are up to standard. This involves more or less creating what you've seen today; proof of concept of an individual shot, with an emphasis on an aesthetically pleasing key pose anatomically. I'll try to keep sculpting to a minimum at this stage, but it may be implemented where absolutely necessary.

I would imagine there to be 10-20 that require touchups. In an ideal world, each will take a day like the cowgirl shot, but life can be an insufferable cunt from time to time, so we shall see. If there's anything I absolutely can't get too look right, I'll either have to cut it out or rework it to some degree, but I hope it won't come to that.

Once that's all done and I'm happy, there's gonna be a metric tonne of loops. Primary loops first, across the board, then secondaries with variation to some degree. Then it should just be filling in the blanks, creating transitionary sequences where necessary.

Lots to be done going forward. I'm not quite sure whether I'll be continuing with this line of work in the foreseeable future, but I assure you that this project will reach completion regardless. As long as it takes, I will continue up until the job is done.

Cheers
