Hey everyone, the poll had to end a few hours early, due to repetitive attempts at manipulating the results. To keep it short, a person created a bunch of duplicate accounts and voted on specific characters to manipulate the results.
Good thing that we have rule number 4 to keep things fair.
So, how many votes will be removed and from which character?
- 10 votes from Motoko, since those 10 accounts joined in a few minutes and Motoko got 10 extra votes at that moment.
-5 votes from Blonde Blazer, again 5 accounts joined in a few minutes and Blonde Blazer got 5 extra votes at the same time.
How can I tell those voters are trying to manipulate the poll?
I follow the poll result on a daily basis to make sure there's nothing weird going on. And when I get notifications of 10+ patrons joining in minutes, I know something weird is happening (I'm not that popular, trust me lol). All those accounts share the same email provider (which I checked, and it's a temporary email server), and the emails are like "890dfjw8ewj98ewfjjj1m@emailprovider" and a minute later, a specific character gets a boost of votes. So the intent is very clear.
And I think that's not fun for anyone. The poll is meant for everyone to have the "same voting power" and not for people to throw in some extra money and skew the results on their favor. And if there were no action on my part, people on the long run could feel like it's pointless to vote, if someone could just come along and wallet their prefered character to victory. So the TL:DR poll results after removing the unfair votes are:
