Pilot Idea - Waiting Room

Published 08/10/2026, 12:52:26 PM

Here's an idea I've had for 100k subs special on YT - I've written some of a story here (using existing characters), but I don't want to continue it if it's not very good.Well, if you've got time - have a read and let me know

Waiting RoomAn unmarked door down a plain but wide corridor waits patiently. The walls are beige, completely devoid of any features or markings.

The only notable feature is an unmarked door, leaving them with only one direction forward. Behind them, there’s nothing—just an endless corridor, more akin to a Scooby-Doo chase scene that stretches on and on, repeating itself.

Jacky, standing behind the group, raises a finger in thought.

“G-Guys?” They all look back at her. “Where are we exactly, and how did we get here?”

Andrew, her best friend, with his finger planted right up his nose, is the first to reply. “Err, I dunno, but why does it smell like feet?”

“Feet?” Lara gives Andrew a slight chuckle before Jade interrupts.

“Yeah, what the hell!” Jade throws up her hands. “We were doing a beach story! I was in a bikini with my cute girlfriend, and now I’m here!?”

“Cute girlfriend?” Lara says, blushing like crazy, before she looks at Jade and gently pushes her away. “You really think…. I’m cute?”

Andrew lets out a grunt, now wiping his finger across his chest, much to Jacky’s embarrassment. “Well, yeah….” He says, elongating his words. “Lara, all the boys think you're cute…” he shrugs and starts digging again with his finger. “But that’s because you’re the chocolate—”

“Andrew!” Jacky stamps on his foot, making Sonya and Jade laugh. “Stop it!”

“Y-Yeah, where are we?” Sonya then asks as Andrew hops around on one foot in pain. She looks up at Matt for answers, who just shrugs back.

“I dunno,” Matt answers. “Maybe we should go through the door at the end?

They all look at it.

It’s unassuming, yet none of them take a step forward. From its direction, an uneasy and unwelcome presence.

“Gross.” Lara’s the first to talk as she looks back at her friends with a worried expression. “Why do I get like a cold feeling when I look at it?”

Sonya and Jacky are shivering, as their simple summer dresses leave their goosebumped skin exposed.

“I’m really cold,” Sonya speaks through chattering teeth.

“Me too.” Jacky agrees.

The two boys, on either side, spring into action. Matt embraces Sonya tightly, and Andrew does the same to Jacky, making her pout, but glad for the warmth of her friend.

“This doesn’t mean anything, Andrew,” Jacky says, pushing herself closer to his body. “I-I’m just cold.”

Andrew pats her head several times, slowly and deliberately

“I’m not THAT cold.” Lara looks at her own exposed shoulders in the dress she’s wearing, then at her girlfriend, who's wearing something even more revealing. “Are you, Jade?”

Jade shakes her head. “I mean, when I looked at the door I got a chill, but no… I’m not that cold.”

They all look at Sonya and Jacky, still shivering, but glad for the embrace of Matt and Andrew. Lara and Jade smile at each other as if the other two girls did it on purpose to get male attention.

“Weird,” Matt says, holding Sonya tighter. “I’m not cold either.” He looks down at the transgirl in his arms with a pleased-as-punch smile. “What’s making you so cold, Sonya?”

Head buried into Matt’s chest, Sonya glances in the direction of the plain, white door across from them. “I-It’s when I look at that door,” she says, her teeth chattering louder than before.

“Weird,” Matt repeats, his expression showing a little disappointment. “Maybe we should—”

He’s interrupted by what sounds like two people bickering in the distance. Each one of the group looks at the other, unsure what to make of it, but Jacky and Sonya are glad it’s not coming from the door, but from behind them.

They stare as three figures approach them.

“I didn’t get us here!” Heath glares at Rain, who stares back just as angry. “Well, it wasn’t me who got us here, and it certainly wasn’t Tia, so whose fault is it, Heath!?”

“Guys….” Tia stands between them, hands up, trying to mediate. “Does it matter how we got here? Let’s just get back. We left Jesse in the lunchroom all alone, and I’m worried about—”

Heath, Rain and Tia stop still, eyes fixed on Sonya, Jacky, Matt, Lara and Jade, who also stare back, confused.

Awkward silence follows.

“Erm…” Tia’s rubs the back of her head and steps forward. “Hiya. Do you know where we are?”

Each and every one of them shakes their head in answer, making Tia look back at Heath and Rain worried.

“There’s a door.” Matt points past Lara and Jade at the door.

Tia, slightly shorter, has to get onto her tiptoes to see it, and as soon as she does, she begins to shiver.

“Urgh.” She groans with visual discomfort, and Rain is quick to check she’s okay.

“W-What’s with that door?” She folds her arms and starts jogging in place to try to warm up. “I-I…I looked at it, and now I’m freezing!”

All the while, Heath is looking at Matt and Andrew with a smug smile on his face. He steps past Rain, who’s helping Tia, and stands beside Andrew.

“Yo, dudes…” He gets their attention, both Sonya and Jacky still in their arms. “So…” Heath looks around at everyone. “So, I make it us three dudes to all of these cute chicks right now.”

HEATH!?” Both Rain and Tia groan at him, staring daggers, having heard his comment.

He throws his hands up. “Hey, I was paying all the lovely girls here a compliment.” He glares back at Rain. “And I was trying to male bond with these guys. Y’know…make friends!”

“I don’t mind.” Sonya squeaks, gently taking herself from Matt’s embrace. She smiles at Heath. “You can call me cute. That’s really euphoric for someone like me.”

Jacky also steps away from Andrew and grins, agreeing. “Yeah, me too!” She flicks her blonde hair and does a peace sign. “I don’t mind it from a boy. Better than my Mom constantly trying to persuade me I’m cute when I don’t feel it.”

Tia giggles to herself, covering her mouth with her hand. “My Mom does that too.” She steps closer to Jacky and Sonya, Rain following close behind. “A-Are you two transgender like me’ cos I get a bit frustrated with my Mom too, and I’m glad I’m not the only one!”

Jacky’s face lights up, but Sonya looks away.

“Right!” Jacky bounces on the spot. “Y-You try on a dress or something, and you want her honest opinion, and she just tells you you’re the most beautiful girl she’s ever seen!”

Right!” Tia brings her hands together, and her face lights up. “Y-Yeah, and…and all you want is for her to be honest! I-It’s like as soon as you come out as a girl, she doesn’t want to say anything that’ll hurt your feelings…”

“My Mom hates me.” Sonya interrupts with a low grumble, causing Tia and Jacky to stop. The entire gang goes silent, staring at her, so Sonya kicks the floor in frustration. “You’re both lucky.”

“Oh…” Tia says, her voice soft and caring. “I’m sorry, sweetheart….” She lowers her head for a moment before forcing a smile. “S-So… I’m Tia.”

She waves, then points at Heath and Rain, introducing them.

Sonya and the gang introduce themselves in return.

“Sonya?” Tia smiles. “I like your dress. It’s very pretty, and that’s not me being like, ‘my Mom’ and telling you what I think you want to hear. I really do think it’s pretty.”

“Y-Yeah?” Sonya gives a blushing smile back. “I-I…I like your dress too.”

Tia grins wide. “Aww, thanks! When we find our way out of here, you guys will have to join my club!”

“Club?” Jacky asks, but when Tia’s about to explain, they hear another person approaching.

They all turn, and this time a single figure approaches. Slender and tall, they eventually come into view, looking just as lost as the rest of them.

“PAULENE!” Jacky bounces on the spot, calling out, excited to see her.

Paulene, wearing a wedding dress, stumbles towards the gang, lost, confused, and disoriented. She stops just behind Rain, the skirt of her long dress in hand.

“J-Jacky?” Paulene looks at everyone and notices Sonya. “Sonya?”

“Miss…” Jacky steps through the crowd and points at her bright white wedding dress. “Nice dress. Finally getting married!?”

Paulene looks down, her cheeks flush as everyone stares. She shakes her head once. “No,” she answers with an awkward laugh. “I-I…I was trying this on and… then I found myself… here.”

Paulene then starts to shiver like the others before Tia stands before her, hands together, admiring the dress.

“It’s a beautiful gown, Ma’am! I really like the detailing around your neckline. It’s very elegant on such a slender woman”

“T-Thanks.” Paulene folds her tight because she’s cold. She then looks around at all the young faces. “W-Where are we? Because if I don’t get back home, my fiancé is going to worry.”

Jacky turns to Tia, hooking a thumb behind her at Paulene. “She’s transgender too, girls. Paulene’s getting married to her teenage sweetheart. Isn’t that just the cutest thing ever!?”

“Seriously!?” Tia looks up and then glances at Heath, giving him a telling smile. “Childhood sweethearts, huh?”

Heath just glares back. Tia knows too much.

“Wow.” Andrew, hands in pockets, starts counting the transfems in front of him. “So many transgirls in the same room and at the same time.” He looks around at the rest of them, settling on Heath. “Anyone else transgender here?”

Rain laughs at Heath’s expense as Andrew’s stare tries to suggest something about him, but then a voice calls out in the distance, answering the question.

“I am,” and then, coming into view, two women approach.

Sora, walking towards them all, holds one hand up, much to Charlotte’s amusement as they walk side by side. “I’m transgender. I am…a transwoman.”

As Charlotte and Sora stand with the rest of them, Charlotte gives Paulene a curious look, eyeing up her wedding dress.

“Running away?” Charlotte asks. “Is he not a good man?”

Sora nudges her. “Lottie, don’t be so rude!”

“I’m not.” Lottie pinches Sora back, making her laugh. “I’m just curious why this woman is wearing a wedding dress.”

Sora shakes her head and steps in front of Lottie, her expression apologetic. “Don’t mind my wife; she’s just grumpy because she’s pregnant with my baby and I haven’t fed her in the last twenty minutes.”

Sora looks around the room, shivers when she sees the door, then gently smiles at all the blank faces looking back at her.

“So…” she laughs nervously. “Is there a café or something here? I should feed Lottie soon because otherwise all hell will break loose.”

Lottie nudges back. “Oi.”

What?”

“Stop it! You make me sound like some sort of food-crazed monster.”

A pregnant, food-crazed monster, yeah?” Sora replies with a light-hearted sigh, then looks at Lara and Jade. “Girls. Food? Do you have any? Maybe a chocolate bar?”

Lara and Jade look at each other and then shake their heads.

“Hold on a minute…” Matt starts to point at Sora. “If you’re trans, how is she preg—”

Sonya interrupts and jabs at his side, trying to get him to stop being so dense.

“Shut it, Matt.” She growls, then forces a smile in Sora’s direction. “S-Sorry about him. He’s a dope.”

“They had sex,” Heath says.

HEATH!” Both Rain and Tia scold him.

Matt and Heath look at each other, both in trouble, and then roll their eyes.

Lottie, unbothered, nods once, and Sora blushes, but smiles brightly

“I’m just saying it how it is.” Heath, who’s being nudged by Rain, speaks out. “That’s how people get pregnant. Just because she’s trans doesn’t mean that can’t happen.”

Awkwardness follows, but Paulene has a question. She looks at Charlotte, who’s clutching her belly, and then at Sora. “You’re married, right?”

They nod.

“Who wore the dress on the big day??”

Lottie points at Sora. “She did.”

“Oh?”

“Y-Yeah…” Sora blushes, but smiles wide. “Was a surreal moment, but actually, it felt right. My wife wears the pants in our relationship, so it felt fitting for her to be in a suit.”

Jade giggles. “When I marry my girlfriend, I think she’ll be the one wearing the suit!”

Lara Gasps and brings her hands to her face. “W-When we…MARRY!?”

“Yeah.” Jade touches her sides and looks into her eyes. “I’m in this for the long haul, baby girl. Aren’t you?”

“Aww…” Sora gushes at the two young lovers. “I wish my little Nicola would find a girl like that to love her.”

Lottie agree’s and then her stomach rumbles, making everyone look in her direction. She bites her bottom lip. “S-Sorry, everyone. I am hungry.” She chuckles. “I am eating for two.”

“What’s it like?” Paulene asks first, knowing that Tia, Sonya and Jacky likely want to know.

“Being pregnant?” Lottie looks at the woman standing awkwardly in white high heels, still holding the tail of her dress from the floor.

Paulene nods, flashing a look at Tia, Sonya, and Jacky, who are listening intently.

Lottie feels pressured. She reaches back to her ponytail and tightens it, giving herself a moment to think.

“I suppose it’s like—”

Just as Lottie’s about to explain her experiences, a voice interrupts the conversation once again. In the distance, two figures approach. This time, not seemingly lost like everyone else, but more confident in their approach.

A metallic flash of a sword is visible, and then a sneeze

“Oh, Alex, I’m sorry.” Luke laughs, wiping his nose. “Allergies.”

Alex’s tail twitches and her ears sink. “I’m sorry, Luke. I can’t do anything about my fur. Maybe I should hide my ears under a hat or some—”

Luke and Alex stop dead and stare as the huddle of people in front of them stare gobsmacked directly at her with their mouths wide open.

“Oh, people.” Luke pushes his glasses up his nose. “Perhaps they know how to get out of here?”

“M-Maybe…” Alex snatches at her tail with her free hand to stop it from moving and then whispers. “They’re all staring at me.”

Luke looks at all the unfamiliar faces and then at Alex, who’s shying away by looking down at the floor.

“Ah.” Luke steps ahead of Alex and clears his throat. “Please don’t mind Alex. She’s a hybrid human and grimalkin.” He looks up at her droopy ears. “Yes, she sorta looks like a cat girl, but she’s not dangerous or anything—” he sneezes, laughs, and wipes his mouth. “W-Well… unless you have cat allergies.”

The rest of them talk amongst themselves, muttering the word ‘grimalkin’ before Andrew’s the first to really speak up.

“Is the tail real?” He leans forward, squinting, almost knocking Sonya out of the way. “Cos I’ve always wanted to have a cat tail.”

Jacky steps ahead of him, waving her arms, embarrassed. “I-Ignore him!”

Sonya giggles. “I could see you with a cat tail, Andrew,” she starts laughing. “A-And cat ears in a cute little maid outfit!”

Tia leans, grin on her face. “At my club we could deffo do that!”

That’s when Alex shoves Luke for the smarmy look on his face.

“No, Luke!” he stumbles across the room, catching himself on the wall. “I’m not wearing a maid costume! You remember what my Mom said about this form!” Alex stands proud, sword in hand. “I’m a warrior!”

They all look impressed as Alex’s ears stand on end, her tail stands straight out, and she poses with her sword, looking ready for battle. However, the first person to speak is Lottie.

“Lovely.” She frowns. “Does that cat girl warrior person have any food?”

Alex lowers her sword and falls into a slump. “I don’t…” she says, looking glum as she stands back up straight.

“Alex’s is an alien,” Luke interjects, placing a hand upon her shoulder. “Cool, right?”

Faces of disbelief look back at them, but as Alex’s looks past the group and at the door behind them, she shivers and holds her face in pain.

“Urgh.” She groans out. “My instincts are telling me to avoid that door.” She looks at Luke. “Can we go home now. I’m feeling really self-conscious with all these people looking at me like I’m a weirdo.”

Luke awkwardly smiles, comforting her.

“You guys know how to get out of here?” Matt asks, as Alex starts to shiver like Jacky, Sonya, Tia, and Sora alike.

Sonya’s the first to notice and steps towards the cat girl, unafraid.

“Are you transgender too?” she asks, unable to look Alex in the eyes as she stands taller.

Luke sneezes, causing Alex’s ears to droop, but she does look at Sonya with a bashful smile. She grabs her tail, holds it still, and then bites at her bottom lip.

“No… not transgender.” She answers and then looks up like she’s trying to look at her cat ears. “I was a boy but got transformed into a girl.”

Alex looks back at Luke for clarity. “Does that make me transgender? I guess it does.”

A few gasps follow, and Tia, Sora, Sonya and Jacky crowd her, all desperate to ask the very same questions.

“Transformed?” Jacky blurts out, then controls her excitement.

“Like magic!?” Tia comments.

“Seriously!?” Sonya gasps.

Sora, a bit more calm, tilts her head and just stares.

“Transformed…?” she scoffs, not wanting to believe it. “I doubt it. That sounds like the silliness found in like a fairy tail or something.”

Andrew smiles to himself. “Nice, pun.”

Sora gives him a toothy grin and a thumbs up. “Thanks, kid. I try.”

“N-NO…” Alex grips her tail, holding it so tight it hurts. “I-it’s true. I’m not lying. I was a boy called Blake, and my Mom transformed me into a girl and then into a hybrid warrior.” Alex lets out a long sigh, knowing it sounds stupid. “I’m not lying.”

Sonya pouts, folds her arms and looks away in frustration.

“I can barely stand being in the same room as my mother,” she grumbles to herself, only really audible to Matt. “And yet, her mother ‘transformed’ her into a girl just like that. Typical.”
