For some time now I've been using a dual mic set up to achieve binaural audio. The booth I record in is quite boxy sounding meaning that a mic like the 3Dio, which picks up sound from EVERY direction, ends up soaking up some echoes of my voice when I speak at a normal volume which is why I have the two directional mics that only pick up sound from one direction. However I really want to start using the 3Dio again so I'm going to experiment with putting up blankets etc. to make it more viable but the main change would be speaking way softer. One of the things that makes my audios so immersive (I think) is being able to use a range of tones and volumes. The problem with having to speak soft & quiet is you lose that range/scripted story immersion, for me anyway. Having said all that how would you feel if I started putting out random audios (just here on Patreon because you guys are so supportive and kind) that are a little more.. roleplay heavy I guess? For example some ideas I've had is maybe a brain worm fairy who trawls around your brain getting rid of your brain worms - talking to herself but also to you but in a way where you're not required to 'reply'. Lots of affirmations and maybe more traditional ASMR sounds thrown in. Also more soft spoken sleepy nonsensical audios? I always hold myself to such a high standard and demand a script of myself before I record, making sure it has a plot that makes sense etc. but maybe more audios that don't make sense might be nice? Happy to hear any similar ideas you might have. I just want to make sure I'm hitting all the right notes and providing what really helps you guys relax. Thank you in advance for your input! <3
