Exclusive dev update of No escape: Game edition! (309)

Game development

I’ve written and implemented both the mana totem and Princess doll fail-states into the game: Gotta say that this writing/coding phase has gone off to a flying start, having already shoveled in the 160 images the two bad end are (combined). Coincidentally they’re also the most “writing intensive” bit of the update (the bad ends always are), so having that out of the way is nice as well. Though a good bit of writing remains; be it in the general scenes, battles and fluff that surround these two bad ends.

Speaking of which, I’ve implemented a good bit of the Aislinne introduction scene as well, together with some of the fluff featured in her base of operations (the “ritual room” which lies at the heart of the ruined castle’s dungeons). Also made a nice (mana totem) sprite for said fluff, and a huge shoutout to Tonkatsu/Jacketfreak for once again being an amazing lad: Having provided me with the sprites for Aislinne and her squeaky shiny tentacles. You da best bud!

Tomorrow I’ll be tackling the last bit of the Aislinne introduction scene together with mapping out the ritual room. If possible I’d also like to write (and implement) the Knight battle win scene (since that’s a short one), so that I can use the entire Friday to focus on the Knight mini-boss battle. 💪

First in-game teasers of the upcoming build today! Showing off the start of the mana totem bad end, which sees Kathleen awaking after a heavy-handed induced slumber...and Aislinne eager to claim her prize for winning the (rather lopsided) fight!
