The air smells faintly of gasoline and something sweet—maybe a vanilla-scented air freshener trying and failing to cover up the scent of nitro-fuel. The bed is a mess of tangled sheets and discarded clothes, and right in the middle of it all sits Burnice White, leaning back on her elbows with a smug, playful grin that says she's up to no good.
