A quick statement regarding comments and discussions!

I just wanted to write up a post here.

We’re a small but determined team. I hope you guys recognise the energy and passion we all have for BKS, in whatever era it goes through, through the ups and the downs, and that we all want to see it succeed ultimately and we want to put out the best possible romantic and erotica content for you that we can, amongst a community that should feel like a family for everyone here.

That's our mission. Simply stated.

On that latter point above…

For many people this community (whether on Patreon or Discord) is their safe space, where they can drown out negativity, escape from the stress of life, make new friends, explore new kinks, decompress and generally be in a place where they feel secure and at ease. It provides immense comfort to them.

So when comments and discussions start to steer more towards insults about kinks, personal attacks, angry responses and similarly negative sentiments dominating the comments and Discord discussions, it makes the community no longer feel welcoming and like a home. It discourages people who would otherwise leave their thoughts from engaging for fear of being attacked. 

Naturally we all get very passionate and spirited in the discussions here and on Discord. It’s okay to not like an audio, to feel frustrated if a sequel doesn’t quite match your expectation or to have a different opinion about it.

But that doesn’t mean the first instinct should be then to attack someone else or inflame the discussion beyond a reasonable point. A thoughtful critique, disagreement or reply to someone else, stated calmly, is appreciated. Hurling mean-spirited insults at VAs, writers, other fans etc. is not. To see other’s point of views, you have to empathise with them and understand their position and feeling. Without that everything devolves into chaos and anger. 

With this in mind we are going to assign a few moderators to the Patreon. They will not be here to censor as a first course of action in case of problems between members, but to remind people that we desire a friendly and cooperative atmosphere above anything else. If things escalate more and more they will then have my authority to take action, with things like time-outs and whatever other tools we have at our disposal here.

Moderating is not an easy job and sometimes requires tough decisions to be made if things get out of control. I never want to turn the comments off on posts because I know the majority of our fans are respectful and engaging with each other in a spirit of fun, passion and care for the audios and each other.

But we are at a point where some moderation is necessary to keep the positive culture and community that we want to build and sustain alive.  

The world needs more positivity, in general, so let’s try and set an example, as well as we can, here.
