Can you help us with assembling the best writing team we can for BKS?

NOTE: SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR THE TIME BEING.

Hey guys,

I’ve got a long post to make here but bear with me as it will be very important for BKS going forward.

I don't usually get all long-winded and more serious like this but here we go...

I made an announcement on Discord a short while ago after Our Little Secret Pt. 2 came out:

Hey @everyone, i just wanted to say, I really commend @VioletTimes for messaging in the 「😈」audio-discussion channel and getting feedback from the community and opening her DMs on OLS Pt. 2. It takes a lot of courage so kudos to her for that and I hope she knows that the BKS community loves and values what she does extremely highly. As some have mentioned we all get very invested in these audios and I think the vast majority of negative responses are far more born out of passion for the content than any dislike towards the people creating it. We encourage everyone to have whatever opinion they want to take on an audio and will always strive for that to be the case!

I also want to re-iterate here that we (BKS as a company) are absolutely fine with hearing 'less than stellar' feedback on the Patreon and Discord in general. We need constructive feedback to continually get better at what we do. There is a lot that we get, so I can't reply to each individual person. But we try to pay attention to patterns in constructive feedback closely e.g. as we did with the SFX a while ago, as we did with too many guest audios, too many of the 'same' kind of audio etc.

Ultimately, we’re not striving to be second or third best in erotic audio. The long term goal for me and all the team who work on these audios and pour their heart and soul into them is to be THE best at erotic audio and storytelling in this medium. That means developing stories, worlds, series, characters, emotional states that people can enjoy and resonate with for years or decades to come. So suffice to say we are very much laser-focused at the moment on bringing that vision to life with slowly assembling an 'Avengers' production team (from writing to editing) and the more helpful feedback we get to help us on this journey the better!

So with this last paragraph in mind I want to re-iterate that I am very focused on building a core writing team for BKS over the coming months and year (2026). We already have a few 'core' writers like Ellie, Violet Times and Snoooza who have historically been very strong and consistent for us but we want to welcome more to the team.

This team will not be static and will inevitably shift and change over time.

People may drop out, life might get in the way, sometimes the fire and passion a writer has may dip for a long time, their writing suffers and other factors will shape this.

We constantly want to push the boundaries of what we can do in romantic and erotic audio and ultimately we want the best ideas for stories and worlds to win out.

It's no secret that teams who work closer together can create incredible content and this is what we are aiming at.

In the past we have had more of a model of accepting scripts from many writers and we've had thousands of submissions from Reddit, email, Discord, Wattpad, Instagram...etc. It has unfortunately in 2025 ended up in a more chaotic result where we don't necessarily quite get what we are looking for, for our style.

We've felt increasingly as 2025 comes to a close that we need to change this approach.

So, with all that being said, we wanted to put this opportunity to you, the fans, as well to see if there are some of you hiding your amazing scriptwriting talents away from the world or if you know people who are?

Without further ado...

What are the qualities we are looking for in writers?

You should understand the fundamentals of storytelling like creating emotional tension, beat maps, intentions and obstacles for characters, natural or authentic dialogue, strong opening hooks, reversals, what adds a taboo to the plot, what would make a good series or world to explore etc.

You should be imaginative and open-minded in your story ideas. E.g. how can you take a familiar ‘wrapping’ like enemies to lovers but give it a new twist or completely surprising delivery for our fans? Or how can you create an entirely new type of audio or experience in this space? Think how we did 'Ours' in December 2023. The ability to think 'outside the box' and be open to new ideas is crucial.

You should be able to write any length of script well. Prove you can write a shorter script as well as you can write a longer one. Some of our most loved audios of all time are only 40 minutes long (e.g. Call Me When You Need Me). You should be able to compress things into a smaller writing space if necessary but still have the same emotional/erotic impact.

You should have stories waiting to ‘burst’ out of you. You need to be doing this for the love of writing and getting your voice and great erotica and romance out into the world. You will get compensated well too but this cannot be your main motivation to write. BKS has fans from all over the world who come to us to help their kinks, their sex lives, their relationships, their marriages, their mental health and much more. This is a big responsibility to take on and you should have the goal to deliver this for our fans and provide a very special thing for them that massively impacts their lives.

Some understanding of our medium is useful (i.e. usually only one voice actor talking, SFX and acting directions that make sense for audio only) but it is not 100% required. You will have to be able to make one character doing all the speaking interesting!

A strong knowledge of the top BKS audios of all time is very useful but not absolutely necessary.

You can take thoughtful criticism and feedback without getting defensive or insulted. And if your script does not perform as you hoped, can you be level-headed in deconstructing it and understanding what went wrong? Did the VA not understand how to deliver some lines? Was the structure muddled? Was the dialogue too expository? Your ability to learn from mistakes will be super important. We need people who can be humble and grow and remain cool in the face of their work receiving some criticism from fans or other BKS team members.

A desire to do work quickly but more importantly diligently. You should be ruthless with re-writes, re-checking drafts, cutting things that don’t work, tweaking individual lines, changing the order of some things. We like people who agonise over details because we want to make great audios. No short-cuts.

A hunger to help other writers as well - you may occasionally be called upon to review a script submission to us and give your thoughts on it. You should have an interest in giving honest feedback to people and helping them improve and level up their writing ability. And you should be demanding in seeking the best scripts for BKS to take on.

A general hunger and interest for romance and erotica stories across mediums - TV shows, games, movies, books, comics, whatever form it comes in. Again, not an absolute necessity but the more voraciously you consume great writing in different formats, the more this will likely show through in your own writing.

Sound interesting?...

What do you need to do to apply and what will the process be?

1) To apply please submit the following documents:

Please submit at least TWO scripts (more is better but 2 is the minimum) in the format we are seeking. These scripts can be in any trope you desire, the main things we will be assessing are your script-writing skills and how you build emotional and sexual tension in the piece. We have attached a past script here to show you what this looks like - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WJFPCmbk3spiq6VUBkzDcpC1UXPX8F9W-mG_BW-Osk4/edit?usp=sharing

(this is a piece from Snoooza who is very detailed with SFX, you don't have to be as detailed but it's a good idea of the level you can aspire to). If you need some more guidance on SFX and what is and isn't good sound direction, you can read more HERE.

Also submit a short (less than 800 words) cover letter about why you are interested in writing for BKS.

Submit a short Google Doc (less than 3 pages total) detailing how you think about putting a story/script together and planning how you will write it. You can take a request from bksaudio.com to illustrate this or use your own idea.

Keep all of this in one Drive folder, set to 'share with anyone with the link' (viewing access) with the following titling format for the folder - [WRITING NAME] - BKS WRITING APPLICATION - [DD/MM/YYYY]. You must send this to [email protected] (the Head of Writing for BKS) and cc me in [email protected]

2) We will then assess the writing and accompanying letter and Google Doc. This process can take a while as we will likely get a lot of submissions and we want to review each person thoroughly with only a small team at our disposal. So please be patient, it could be anywhere up to 1 month from the point of submission before we are able to give you a reply and initial decision

3) If we see promise in your writing and something that gives a unique flavour to BKS we will progress your application, sign an agreement, with a confirmed pay rate and do up to three initial ‘test’ scripts and see how things go.

If this goes extremely well and the fans are loving your work, we will progress your application further. Do note this stage can take a long time too as we have a lot of scripts that go through our pipeline.

4) I will do a 1-on-1 live video interview with you to understand your goals, ideas and desire to do this for the long-term and to know more about you as a person too of course.  There will also be a test in this interview to see how you think about fixing a story or premise and reviewing other scripts.

5) Following this interview, we will do another thorough review on the application, the scripts, the answers you gave and your general character, values and approach. And then come to a decision.

6) If step 4, goes well you are in the team! And a new agreement will be signed.

Furthermore we are also announcing a kind of ‘referral scheme’ for this:

If you find and refer a writer to us who becomes part of our core team after 3 test scripts (passes all of the above steps), you will receive a $1,500 bonus from us!

Note - this will need to be confirmed with evidence of your correspondence with the writer. We will only pay referral bonuses after the writer has completed the interview, passed verification, and confirmed to have joined the core team. These bonuses will only apply if the referrer and the writer are two provably different people.

For more details on anything I’ve mentioned above (e.g. rates), please send an email to [email protected] . I’ll do my best to reply to everyone, just know I might get swamped by like five thousand emails so bear with me. These writing roles are not currently 'full-time' but more 'freelance' or part-time so please keep this in mind too.

Please note: If we don’t think your scriptwriting is quite right for BKS, do not take this personally. This does not mean it wouldn’t be right for other styles and mediums but we are going to use our best judgement in seeing how you craft a story, understand the mechanics of tension and the BKS audience more broadly.

PS: For the writers we had already been in contact with and have paused submissions from, this is still currently in place as we embark on this project to find our core writing team.  Your prior writing for BKS will be strongly considered too in making these decisions as we move forward.
