For an audio where the speaker confesses while the listener is 'asleep'..

Would you prefer the confession to happen & the speaker falls to sleep feeling content that it's off their chest now OR would you prefer the listener to 'wake up' & for the speaker to have to explain themselves? Bonus points if you tell me what might follow the second option! I have ideas but they've all been done before.. just looking to see what the experts think. :3 thank you for helping me <3
