Evening all, Scriptor here with the dev news bulletin! (Hold onto your butts because it’s a long one. 👀 )
Game development
V0.32.1 has been released for Tier III since last Friday! The end of the dev cycle was a bit rough (with my wisdom tooth extraction and all), but I’m certainly not displeased as to how the update turned out. Besides from some bugs that needed to be squashed (in the hotfix on Saturday), the release itself went smoothly as well.
General reception of the new update also seems largely positive; though I didn’t expect folks to like/be interested so much in the brothel area. The place was largely added as a quick extra (and nod to the comic that started it), but I’ve gotten quite a few suggestions/comments asking me to do something more with it... which I might be doing in a future big quality-of-life patch. That said, V0.33.1 (the next build) will be focusing on wrapping up the last bit of the fantasy RPG VR-world: Aislinne’s “serving route” to be exact! 💯
V0.33.1 Plans
V0.33.1 will be the last “big” patch for the fantasy RPG VR-world, and will focus on implementing Aislinne’s “serving” route: The serving part is put in quotations there because it will be quite a bit different from the previous serving routes. As Aislinne has no need for servants; instead relying on her many, many faceless (and mindless) drones to do her work. So instead of serving, Kathleen will be providing “entertainment” quite akin to how she did during their mock battle. But instead of fighting they’ll be playing fun games with epic prizes! (Read: Bad ends lmao)
In any case, for V0.33.1 I plan to add (at least) the following:
- Aislinne’s entire “serving” route; which will see Kathleen play fun “games” with her in exchange for her freedom (or at least that’s what she hopes)!
- Three “games” for the above serving route; each with their own perils/caveats for Kathleen to deal with.
- And of course two fail-states (for either angering or pleasing Aislinne “too much”).
Bit of a short list but don’t let that fool you; as I’ve got quite some fun things planned for the whole experience! 💪
Plans for this week (side-project wrap-up)
Before I start working on the next No escape build I’ll be taking a small week’s intermission; to wrap up/get some side-projects in order for December: Like last year I’m planning on doing a small “Christmas special” during the holidays (to get that squeaky holiday spirit going) and I’ll be preparing that one this week. So I don’t have to do it last minute two days before Christmas eve (like how it was last year lmao). As for what the theme of this one will be...I’m thinking something in the vein of Christmas balls. Kinky ones. >;3 🎅
I’ve also setup (and rendered out) the last images of the Lara Croft milking facility side project yesterday, so all that remains is post-processing and writing out the comic pages, which is also something that I’ll be tackling this week. All-in-all I’m pretty darn pleased with how this one’s turned out and it’s become quite the chonker: Clocking in at 95 base images. After post-processing/writing I expect that number to go up to a comfy 100+; so I’ll likely be “upping” it’s status from image sequence to comic and release it all in one go early December. Expect to hear the official E.T.A. coming Sunday! 🥛
And finally there will be no dev update this Wednesday; as I hammer away on those two small projects. You peeps can expect the regular dev update schedule will be picked up again this Sunday though, as next week it's back into the normal flow of things; with No escape development being my primary focus again. 💪
