Poll Results

Sorry for the shitty preview image, I just didn't want to reuse the ones from last year and I didn't feel like being creative. In fact, you'll find that out soon enough.

So, polls. Both are done. Public one you can already see the results of, so it's not really a surprise, but I'll go ahead and cover the supporter one first.

So, yes... Aerith and Tifa won.

And I couldn't be arsed to have a victory picture, since trying to come up with something for two characters is too much work for my brain right now. Don't worry, I can do the animations just fine, it's just for a silly victory image I'm too lazy to bother. And really, it's Aerith and Tifa. It''s not like anyone is starved for content of the two. And if you are... uh... ask Jeeves. He can hook you up.

Still, not a huge surprise, but it is mildly disappointing to me who was rooting for the Nier gals. There's a pyrrhic victory here in that the combined votes of Nier and the Cat and Dog options surpasses the FF7 duo... but I assure you that not every Cat and Dog voter would vote for Nier if the option was removed. In a way, as they say, it was rigged from the start. My own fault, really.

As for the public poll... my 'big-brain' thinking proved wrong. No surprise there, but I will say that it was at least close. Not like, super close like some polls have been, but there was no major loser like some polls. Not gonna tally all the votes up, since they're publicly viewable on Pixiv and Subscribe Star, but the percentages are basically:

Luna - 40%

Marie - 31%

Nyotengu - 29%

So, Luna won.

But jokes on you, this wasn't Lunafreya as Red Riding Hood. It was Lunafreya as BB Hood! Not really. Just figured I'd have some fun with the winning shot. If you don't know who BB Hood is, she's from Darkstalkers. Looks like a typical Red Riding Hood character, but is packing all sorts of heat.

Moving on from the poll results, let's talk about the next poll which will go live this weekend. This is gonna be a dual poll, dubbed "Heaven and Hell, Trick and Treat". Three characters that are normal, three characters that are jokey. See, I was just in a jolly good mood one day and felt like being a bit mischevious. I don't do a whole lot of trickery in October, despite that being a common facet of Halloween. I mean, Trick or Treat is a thing after all, and yet I've not even jumpscared people in my "horror" stuff. I decided I'd have a little bit of fun for this final poll. In terms of animations, I'll be primarily focusing on the treat side of things, but there will be some for whoever wins on the trick side. Some people will be into the tricks, after all.

Still, let's talk about the Treats first and foremost. The first character featured on the treat side is:

Serah Farron as a bunny card dealer sort of thing. I don't really know what you'd call it, but she's here to cheat you out of your money at the Blackjack table. Not really sure why I went with this costume, other than that it tangentially reminded me of her outfits in her games in a round about way. Regardless, the next character to be featured is:

Nayo as an angel. Not a biblically accurate angel, mind you. If I did that, she could have gone in the Trick side of things. Either way, I like Nayo a lot for some reason or another and I put her in thise costume since I couldn't think of anything else. It's cute, I guess. Last character of the Treat side of things is:

Gaia as a bride of sorts. Not really a corpse bride, but I had planned to put her in the wedding dress during the anniversary, but my laziness won out and I stuck her in the shorts because it's easier. Rather than just reuse that wedding dress, I smashed together a new one from various parts. Just something about the goth chick who wears black all the time wearing a wedding dress is funny to me. And hey, it's someone different. Serah and Nayo were around last year's poll, so Gaia makes a grand entrance this year.

Now, onto the Trick side of things. For some of you, you will be on board with these choices of trickery. Others will want to throw up or punch me in the stomach. That's fine. There will be a fourth option(for both sides of the poll, mind you) and I'll explain it further at the end, since there were some questions raised last time I mentioned it. Still, onto the first character:

Oooh, a masked witch! Who could it be?! I can't possibly tell. You gotta admit though, those eyes are quite striking. Never really noticed without the mask. Regardless, next character is:

Artemis as a maid. Not a very good one if her boss fight in DMC5 is any indication. That poor library... You might be asking what the hell I'm smoking, but I assure you I am perfectly straight-laced. I'm just insane. It's Halloween, so I figured it was a perfect time to bust out an actual monster. Been meaning to do Artemis for an April Fool's since 2019 when DMC5 came out. So yeah, here she is. As for the final character, I figured with Shuten-Douji gettin' some treatment with Marie Rose, why not do another Fate character?

Hastalfo. The H is silent.

With those cursed images done and everyone wishing they could bleach their eyes, let's talk about the final, fourth option. Both sides will have it, and it's the "Present/Abstain" option. Basically, if you have a character you want to pick on one side, but you'd rather not vote for anyone on the other side, you can vote Present. If the Present option wins, then it'll go to RNGesus to decide. However, things will be weighted in a manner so that it carries some risk to it. Essentially, it'll be weighted like so.

4/10 chance of it being one of the three characters on the poll.

2/10 chance of it being a 'runner-up' character who was considered for the poll.

4/10 chance of it being someone completely randomy from outside the poll pool.

So the chances of it being cursed are actually fairly low. Buuuut... there is a perfectly real chance that if both mystery options won, Gladiolus could be selected. Twice. Do not underestimate my luck. See, I am actually a very lucky person. Most people think lucky people are very fortunate, but luck isn't always good. What a lot of people don't realize is that luck is a two way street. Luck does not discriminate. I have had insanely good luck in my life, and insanely bad luck. While the bad luck stuff has never been anything super serious, if it will inconvenience me in some way, my luck is happily on board with screwing me over. I would not be surprised in the least if I rolled both options and got Gladiolus for both. So keep that in mind when you're voting. Anyway, just because it funni:

Oct 14th - 3rd Halloween Release[public] + Public Poll Animations Released

Oct 20th - 4th Halloween Release

Oct 21st - Trick and Treat Poll Animations + DOA Poll for November(gonna discuss more about this later since I do plan to take an actual two week break at the start of November, but I'll explain more of what goes on in a later post)

Oct 27th - Poll Results

Oct 28th - ???[May not be anything, we shall see]

Oct 31st - Duo Poll Animations Release

That's the basic plan for the month. Could change if need be, and never know when I'll suddenly be inspired to ramble. We'll see, at least.
